Already in the draft phase – when there is still plenty of constructive freedom – the results of FEM calculations, e.g. deformations due to the influence of forces or temperature, tensions, natural frequencies or even dynamic behaviour in the construction part, can be taken into consideration. Further simulations allow the properties of construction parts to be optimised by iteration (e.g. weight, rigidity, natural frequency).

The EPUCRET development partnership goes beyond just technical advice on the machine frame– extending to the interface with adjacent machine components such as e.g. guides, casing, machine shoe, extraction of shavings. Further suggestions for design and optimisation of the interfaces are made in close collaboration with the component suppliers.

This where the decisive way is paved for high quality, economical frames and components made of mineral casting. We construct and calculate all tools on the most modern 3D-CAD systems and thus assure high flexibility in the case of changes in construction.

For this reason, EUPCRET developed the “intelligent mineral casing frame”, which prevents thermal deformation by means of a sensor/actuator system.
